Hello you fabulous darlings
Allison here with a new character oh my!
Eliot Waugh hails from a different Manhattan in the universe of Lev Grossman's (fantastic) book The Magicians, and also in the sequel but for the purposes of Drama Bombs the Rift is taking him from the first book where he is...a big gay drunken mess, fresh out of wizard college and living an aimless life of ease and vice. Hooray! poor life choices will ensue!
I wrote up an explanation of Eliot's magical powers in his application, which you should read if you're interested because magic in The Magicians is all weird and technical and doesn't work the same way magic does in many of the Rifties' home universes. (also I hope this will entice people to read the books, they are great, go read the books)
Eliot's entry will happen (will have happened?) on the 25th, and is going to be twofold: since he's already a New Yorker and has a tendency to be, well, impaired often, he's not immediately going to notice he's come through the Rift at all! Firstly, he's going to have a fateful and ridiculous encounter with Johnny: Ellis and I originally threaded this privately as an extracanonical voice-testing thread but we both liked the character dynamics enough to put it into the game proper! So it's like an out of town preview.
After an ill-advised one night stand, Eliot will eventually realize that he's not in Kansas anymore, and proceed to flip out and wander aimlessly through an open thread in a hungover panic about what the hell has actually happened to him. Please feel free to laugh at his distress or talk him down with offers of baked goods!
(and I cannot recommend the books enough wow such story many feelings go read them okay I'll stop pestering y'all)
