Mun love time!

So I think all of us need a little self-esteem boost and motivation once in a while, and I've been wanting to do this for ages.

Step 1: Tag in with a list of you you play as. (And previous characters too if you want.)

Step 2: Also include one thing you like about yourself, because self-love is important and I greatly encourage it.

Step 3: Reply to other people with stuff you love about them.

This could be anything, personal or purely RP related. Maybe you really love how someone plays a character, or think they have great idea for plots, or had a really good time with a thread with them, or just think they're a really cool person. Say so!

Give each other some love!

Still ostensibly playing the TARDIS and Calliope. Also I was Smaug like one time in a dream, who was an absolute delight to play but trying to imitate Tolkien's style turned out to be too tedious for me. Also the CORDIS!

I like to think I am good at playing aliens/non-humans and conveying a sort of outside look on humanity.

Also I miss you guys a lot and wish I had more time, or were better at managing the time and energy I do have in order to be a part of this more. Because you are all wonderful both as writers and as friends.

Ahhhhh this is so nice and reassuring to hearrrr, thank you. The TARDIS is actually the least challenging to play for me because I feel her 100% of the time, but when I have my low-confidence moments I do super fret that I'm not making her alien enough. And that she's your fave out of a whole bunch on the internet is *_________* very flattering!

I'm imagining you're saying that the Southern "bless her heart" way and that's incredibly amusing.

You ARE good at playing aliens! I freaking love your TARDIS she's got exactly the right distribution of disapproving and heartwarming and just an interesting, convincing non-human outlook on all these weird humans getting all up in her business. It's fun how sometimes she borders on terrifying! You write her so beautifully and her relationship with Rush, a bit shaky as it might be as of their last conversation, is so endearing and intriguing to me.

AND CALLIOPE IS ADORABLE. SHE IS A SWEET WONDERFUL JUNIOR EXPLORER AND I LOVE HER. You do a very good job playing both of your wonderful alien people (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

You don't know how glad I am to hear that I'm managing to convey how terrifying she actually is or has the potential to be. She is this vast alien immensely powerful being and most people just trust her good will I guess?? Which is fine but I need people to understand that she has no human morality or even sense for what is right or appropriate. Soooo I'm glad that comes across yaaay.

I'm enjoying her relationship with Rush so much! Most humans can't stand him but here is an alien ship who basically loves him for weird alien ship reasons, ahaha. I have been wondering if their last conversation can stand as it is or if it should be continued, though I dropped it like a million years ago so idk how feasable that would be. Though I could also see the TARDIS just moving on after that conversation because "unfortunately, humans" and not really acting like anything happened the next time they meet.

DANIEL AND CALLIOPE NEED TO BE HUGE ANTHROPOLOGY NERDS AGAIN

[personal profile] lottawork 2015-07-18 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I love it and I love the alien-ness of it, how she does genuinely does not understand how terrifying it is to like IMPOSE A COMA UPON SOMEONE but I for one love it it's delightfully creepy and inhuman and wonderful.

I mean if you wanna continue that conversation we certainly can though also Rush is an unrepentant asshole and who's got time for that, really, even if you happen to be a sapient spacetime-shit WHO'S GOT TIME FOR THAT. Rush for his part is one to treat it like it's no big deal because he just. does not hold grudges unless he thinks the person in question is profoundly stupid or uninteresting. But the TARDIS is a super compelling spacetime-ship and pfft, why bother with people when SHE'S MUCH MORE INTERESTING.

YES YES THEY DO. Daniel is a little dead at the moment but HE'LL GET BETTER AT SOME POINT I'M SURE. He should totes meet the TARDIS while he's glowy too - at least in that form he'd understand her a little better than he would normally!
theoldgirl: (heart of the tardis)

[personal profile] theoldgirl 2015-07-19 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha that is a good point, that conversation probably would not yield any further results because they are both stubborn as fuck. So I think we can probably just go for another interaction whenever seems convenient without having to worry about it too much. I mean her esteem for him will probably have gone down a little, but she's willing to make allowances for a human as remarkable as she finds him.

Yessss glowy Daniel and the TARDIS needs to happen. I saw that basically ALL THE ANGELS got to him first and was like NOOO THAT WAS GONNA BE THE TARDIS' JOB but if he still has an opening in the mothering this baby incorporeal consciousness department I would try my best to make that happen.

Also because she knows best and is condescending af, that helps with moralising too. >.>

I have wondered why he hasn't met her despite knowing of her! That's really interesting. I liked how uncomfortable he was at the TARDIS party, haha. But he certainly can't avoid running into her forever, at least in a dream.

I MISS THE TARDIS ;_; and Callie (still sad about losing spiral bUddies) and also the CORDIS? that was really really fun that one time that happened, haha I enjoyed that

You are SCARY good at that outside look stuff, it's just endlessly fascinating to watch and a really interesting challenge to thread with, like constantly trying to work out how to even get these vastly different entities to relate to one another is just so cool. I have such immense appreciation of aliens written well.

Your tags are also just like. Beautiful.
theoldgirl: (smiling)

[personal profile] theoldgirl 2015-07-19 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha oh man yes that thread was excellent. I do want to bring the CORDIS back some time to torture some more people, as I don't usually get to be GLEEFULLY EVIL.

^_____________^ I'm so pleased to be reassured on that. It's my favorite thing to do, constructing alien viewpoints and picking apart how weird humanity really is for an outsider, so I'm glad that it's enjoyable to others as well!

Waugh and that's an unexpected compliment, I mean next to like Jazzy and Ollie and Lia, who are SO AMAZING at making their tags beautiful and snazzy and giving them such distinct tones for each character, I always think my writing is... well, it gets the job done but doesn't stand out in any way. So, gosh, thank you for saying that, really.

SMAUG. That was a good time. Daine did not know what to do with him. XD

And, as others have already said, you are great at conveying a non-human perspective. I also really admire how solid your grasp of your characters is, and how you don't compromise that characterization for the sake of making things easier or less complicated. It makes threading with your characters interesting as a rule, and keeps me on my toes.

And we miss you, too! I know how encroaching real life can get, but I'd sure love to see more of you. ♥

Smaug didn't know what to do with Daine either, besides eat her probably. XD

Gosh I actually worry so often that because I don't compromise on characterization I'm difficult to play with and frustrating. ._. So it's really really good of you to say that you find that to be a positive thing. THE TARDIS IS JUST REALLY TERRIBLE I'M SORRY

[personal profile] wildmage_daine 2015-07-19 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
THE TARDIS IS THE TARDIS, NO APOLOGIES NEEDED. I've definitely had my fair share of moments where I was like 'um sorry guys this is, uh... going in a direction' or 'this ostensibly fun thing is not working for my buzzkill character rn,' and that's just how it goes. It can make things challenging, but I view that as a good thing.

I love your TARDIS so much (and I need to introduce someone to your Calliope :I). You've definitely got that alien perspective down; she's never been quite what I would have expected because she's just that one step outside of how the humans (or nearer humans) around her think and act. I love grouchy CR and how she and Peter just came at each other from such cross purposes and became enemies for no good reason.

TARDISSSSSS. You've been playing the TARDIS against my characters so long it's hard to see anyone else as the TARDIS because it feels just wrong. You have a gift for getting into the world of these alien minds and making them convincing without being a chore to deal with. You are always a delight to tag against.

And I love how the thing with her and Gabe turned out. It's such an intense relationship, but at the same time always shifting and unsteady because theyre both such complicated characters.
