Hey folks Ellis here
I have two orders of business, first, what the heck is going on with Jay, second, I'm gonna do a thing soon and you're all invited. Putting things behind a cut because I am insufferably long-winded.
Jay got semi-killed recently (here), and it is being gradually established (here) that the rift did this for two reason: first, to poke around and try to figure out just what his deal is, with all that static and otherworldly nonsense in his brain, and second, to get at Tim, since Tim's otherworldly nonsense is MUCH more interesting, and it was previously ascertained that Jay is Tim's weak spot (here).
Tim has just succeeded in pulling Jay somewhat out of the rift's grasp, Orpheus and Eurydice style (here). How exactly he accomplished this, uhhh, the rift let him do it because of reasons. As of now, though it will take a while for anyone to notice, Jay is an incredibly inept poltergeist. More developments to come, eventually.
If you are interested in having some backdated shenanigans with floaty dreamspace Jay, this post is still fair game, between the 21st and the 28th. Note that if you backdate in there you'll probably want to add a response to Bee's inquiry on the subject.
The other thing is to do with Johnny. I have intimated to many people in varying degrees of detail that I would like Johnny to have a huge literal open-house nightmare, wherein he essentially puppeteers the monster house of his canon to kill (or try to kill) any dreamer who stumbles into it. Getting Johnny to the point where he would have such a nightmare without trying to stop it involved first having Zagreus continue to invade his head and slowly poison him to the point of lashing out himself, as is Zagreus' particular jam - this has been happening on and off for a while now. Johnny is pretty well primed to lose himself, but he's been clinging very hard to the proverbial brink.
So of course who should come along and unceremoniously long-tackle him right over the edge, but this elegant trashweasel.
So at some point - not too soon, the next dream party is coming up and also the flu event still has to happen??? - Desire is going to flick a few switches in Johnny's brain and he will dream up a complex murder house for everyone to play in, if you feel like giving your character a really hard time. The goal of the dream will either be "survive" or, if your character can ascertain what is going on, "find Johnny and wake him up". We can talk about how to make that happen.
