So late last night I crawled out of the woodwork and in a fit of productivity had Ianto do a thing and then went to bed. Now that I'm in a better frame of mind, I thought it might be good to... warn people, I guess? Explain some things I couldn't properly explain in the actual post.
Any characters with rift monitoring equipment will definitely be able to pick up a short but significantly strong event around 3 AM on March 19th. For anyone inside or in the vicinity of Central Park, I'm not sure the light would've been obvious enough to stand out from the general nighttime brightness of NYC, but the tremors and general earthquakeyness definitely would've been audible and palpable. Ianto and his equipment are just across from Bethesda Fountain in the Ramble (map). Conveniently enough, there's also Street View on the paths. I hope that link works. The equipment is right where that headless helmet is on Street View, and Ianto is behind that, further up the path.
I've also gone back and made the post open to multiple, which I should've done in the first place, because probably more than one person would notice a mini earthquake in Central Park. So... there you go, I guess. I'm available on AIM (ohliamylia) if you need to know my totally legitimately scientific ideas about Ianto's machine or just, you know, want to say hi because I'm terrible and haven't been around much lately.
Also this is going to progress into another thing so if you want to chat with Ianto, def do it while he's still... around.
