New character...and semi-drop

I probably should have done these as separate actions since one is not because of the other, despite all appearances to the contrary. This is your modly Kathryn announcing that I'm retiring Yuri -- he'll still be around, but I'm only going to get him out when he's needed to advance the game's plot, as I have not felt much day-to-day inspiration to play him for some time.
I'm not lowering my character count, though, because that would require me to have better sense than I do. Instead, I'm introducing this guy, Rashad Durant (that's not his real name, but his real name will be pretty hard to pry out of him). He's a fallen angel from the Victoriana RPG universe, so he hails from a magical steampunk world in whichChristianity Aluminat works a bit differently than it does in ours. He'll show up with a very proper but very outdated English accent, but will learn to sound American pretty quickly.
What's most important to know about Rashad is that he eats emotions. He doesn't have any emotions of his own, but when he feeds off another person (which he can only do when he's near someone in a heightened state of emotion), he shares the feelings with hisvictim source. Normally it goes away as soon as he's full, but Rashad is addicted a trifle self-indulgent and often overeats, with the result that he can go on feeling that same emotion for a while afterward depending on its strength and on how much he's glutted over-indulged himself. Normal humans won't notice he's doing it; they'll just feel unexpectedly tired. Those with telepathic powers should be able to tell what he's doing, and if they're telepathically powerful they can probably make him stop. I'm always going to ask before I have him do it to your character, as I need to know both that you're okay with it and that the character is in enough of a heightened state of emotion for it to work. If you're ever uncomfortable with this happening, I can always find a reason not to have him do it. IC, though, Rashad is not big on looking for consent from the people he feeds on.
He's very good at faking appropriate emotional responses, so most characters probably shouldn't notice anything amiss in his manner. If your character is an empath, though, they should absolutely notice that there's a gaping hole where his feelings should be. Also, his other big secret is that he hasn't got any sexual organs, but good luck finding that out.
I'm going to throw his entrance post up in a few minutes, and then I'm going to try to figure out what I'm doing with my other three goons. I'm glad to be back; I had a really nice time with family visiting but it's also nice to get back into my normal routine.
