So, Faction Takedowns, Let's Talk About Em!

Hello, fritterlings. Here is the latest word on the faction takedowns.

On IG September 4th (technically now IRL, but we're going to backdate it a bit because inciting events are still happening and backdating is how we do, here), three things are going to happen.

Thing the first: Andrew, James & Co. are going to badger the Rift into letting them go home.
Thing the second: the Rift is going to throw an epic tantrum in response because hdu.
Thing the third: said tantrum will allow interested and motivated parties to go ahead and fork up ROMAC's ship, ultimately resulting in the faction's fall. SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS that joke goes out to Lu I'm here all week tip your waitress.

Sometime in the next week(ish), two open posts will go up. One will be for general Rift shenanigans (this can take whatever form players choose; pretty much anything goes), and one will be for forking up ROMAC. Players are free to throw their characters into whichever scenario they feel like getting involved in. It'll be a hot mess.

Several days after the dust settles in the Citigroup tower (aka a couple weeks down the line in real time), it'll be the Rebels' turn for some ruction. Daine is largely going to be leading the charge on this one, but again, all will be welcome to get involved to whatever degree they so choose (though it's going to be presumed that anyone living in the base will be relocated, because the base is not gonna be livable by the time Daine's done with it). An open post will go up, much like with the Rift shenanigans/ROMAC takedown business.

The goal is to say that by IG September 10th/11th, everything will have calmed down and anyone rendered homeless by the ruction will have been resettled elsewhere. For the sake of convenience, the buildings that currently serve as the Rebel and ROMAC apartments will continue to function as rifty housing. They'll just lose their faction-specific affiliations.

Since I've never officially set out a timeline for my three assholes I figure I should probably do that.

As of the Great Rift Shitfit of September 4th, Daniel is going to be super dead. Soooo anyone who wants to do things with the actual living Daniel should probably do those things before September 4th, because after that point he will be dead and then ~Ascended~ which is its own hot mess that I'll probably make a post about when that time comes.

Rush is going to be pretty involved in the takedown of ROMAC on the 4th, charging in to take some revenge and fuck shit up after his painful stint in their custody and subsequent breakout. He will not be a happy camper, suffice to say.

Tim is going to stay out of it as best as he can but due to an unfortunate dream encounter with Yuri and lingering footage of his and Jay's extremely inept Rebel Base break-in, the Rebels are going to snatch him up as they make that move to fill up the power vacuum, shortly before everything goes to shit. I thiiiiink he's getting broken out in the Rebel takedown, yes?

So yeah that's where all of them are at.

If not, Seth is going to basically break EVERYONE out, so yeah, he'll cover that if no one else does.

Overview of my goobers:

Andrew is going to enable the wrecking of shit! James has been working on Rift Pokery since the kids were taken away following Andrew's failure to recover Melanie, so once the babies are rescued and they're out of ROMAC they'll exit Manhattan and cause the Rift's shitfit pretty quickly afterward. There's not really going to be opportunity for more threading with him beyond the planned rescue stuff; he and the fam are getting shuffled out of the game pretty much asap.

Rashad is going to defend the hell out of ROMAC on the 4th and get his brain/soul broken in return. He'll probably turn up in the bookshop a couple days later and cry all over Aziraphale.

Yuri is going to catch wind of the attack on ROMAC and want to join in but honestly he's useless at fighting. The main thing for him will be scouring the building afterwards for signs of his little brother; when he doesn't find Erik there he'll console himself with the fact that the Rebels will have taken ROMAC's records and can tell him what happened to Erik. He'll probably try to get in the way when people storm the Rebel base, but again, he's useless at fighting (and he won't want to hurt people he's considered friends anyway).

Peter doesn't know that Lucy's with ROMAC, and doesn't know that maybe he should be concerned about it getting wrecked. He's not going to be interested in fighting on either side in either takedown, but he may turn himself into a teleporting rescue service at some point if someone he knows is in danger.

Asmodia has been gobbled up by the Rift and is off getting canon updated.

We could always TELL Peter that Lucy's with Romac somehow. Idk how much I'm up for actually threading with her, but yanno. Several people are aware of it. Seth knows.

So, a general rundown, since that seems to be what the cool kids are doing.

Daine will probably have some involvement in ROMAC's takedown, though I'm not yet sure how much. She's going to need a lot of energy for the Rebel business, so I may arrange for her to be otherwise distracted, or to help more with evacuation than active smashing, whooo knows.

Greta is going to have some tangential involvement in the ROMAC takedown, if only because she lives in the building. Her contributions will probably be limited to evacuating herself/others and general fretting.

Sunshine and Melanie are pretty much just going to be sitting everything out. Sunshine's got a job, and Melanie's a homebody, so chances are it'll be business as usual for them.

Daine can totally hang out with Rush as he recuperates and tries really hard to not be begrudgingly grateful for her consistently pulling his ass out of the fire

Yuri may say so by putting himself in front of Daine when she storms the base if he has the opportunity. We should do something about that.

Iman will be helping to instigate the ROMAC takedown - probably what'll happen is once she and others get wind that there is some kind of Rift fuckery going down, the idea to go in and finish the mess she and Daine started will come to a few people and she'll probably send out some texts. I don't have any really specific plans for her other than that - probably she'll stick with Rush, and there are a few other possibilities that have been discussed. I'm pretty much down for whatever.

Johnny will likely not be involved except for general worrying about Gabe. He miiiight try to do something stupid, but that'll only be if I and others feel like we have time to mess around with that.

Aziraphale will be there to help get people out and keep them safe, and possibly mess some things up himself, what a rebel, but I don't know that I'll be threading anything extensive with him. Basically he can just be available if people need him.

Bee is gonna lie lowww. She'll want to know her friends are safe but that's about it.

Will Jay even know anything is happening??? DOES HE EVER??? Jay is useless, he will not help you, he'll get forcibly involved later when Tim gets captured by the Rebels, so in the meantime we can just assume he's asleep or staring numbly at public access television.

What about worrying about Seth, because lemme tell ya he really needs it. XD But I suppose that's what he'll be doing up TO the takedowns. Awkward grief counselling and all that. (And I suppose worrying about Gabe will be plenty distraction to not be around to stop Seth from doing something super stupid.)

Lucy might just get sent back home during the Rift shitfit? Or to some entirely different time/place, who knows, she's going to be living out her days somewhere anyway, she's not gonna die. But she is gonna disappear with no telling where she's gone.

Topher ...might.. get killed somehow, in the ROMAC takedown? There was some mention of this happening in front of Gabriel, but I don't really have specifics. If anyone has ideas, bring them to me? But I'm also not gonna shuffle him off in a footnote, I care about him too much for that and plus it would just be such a massive downgrade from his canon.

Tara is staying far away from this business. She will however notice the Rift shitfit. (She's also presumably gonna take over Daniel's apartment once he dies.) She's not gonna get involved in the actual takedowns, but if anyone needs their wounds tended to or something, she's available?

Seth is gonna be way too busy being just fucking devastated over Daniel's death to get involved in the ROMAC take-down, but once the time comes for the Rebel one, he will be nice and bitter and reckless and all up for that shit.

Daine's gonna contact him for help/information, and then he'll come along for the fun. His focus is gonna be going after some higher-ups before they run off, then help release the prisoners. Probably including ones that should really be locked up.

WHICH SPEAKING OF THAT

Lots of people/creatures who really should've been locked up will be freed in this. The ones from ROMAC will probably be snatched up by the Rebels, but once they go down too there's not really anywhere to keep them. We can probably assume a bunch of random rifties with powers are gonna step up and deal with dangerous shit, so we don't have to worry about it all too much.

But basically there's a lot of potential for random rifties to have encounters with bad shit, if anyone wants that to happen.

Rush will be all about sowing the seeds of discontent with fucking ROMAC over so if he were to encounter Topher he could definitely tilt him along that path of "bro you should totally start tearing down this place that screwed us both over" if you think that you would be sufficient getting him to the ROMAC takedown

I have no plans for Peeta to be involved in taking down ROMAC, but I'm open to him being brought in by someone else. He'll definitely be involved in the takedown of the Rebels. Probably just in evacuating the base ahead of Daine's mage-rage.
