So I think all of us need a little self-esteem boost and motivation once in a while, and I've been wanting to do this for ages.


Step 1: Tag in with a list of you you play as. (And previous characters too if you want.)

Step 2: Also include one thing you like about yourself, because self-love is important and I greatly encourage it.

Step 3: Reply to other people with stuff you love about them.

This could be anything, personal or purely RP related. Maybe you really love how someone plays a character, or think they have great idea for plots, or had a really good time with a thread with them, or just think they're a really cool person. Say so!

I'm Kristine and I play as Seth.

In the past I have played as Tenth Doctor, Eighth Doctor, James Wood, Lucy Saxon, Topher Brink, and (extremely briefly) Tara Maclay.

I think I'm pretty good at characterisation and picking apart characters (or at least I love doing it). And then torturing them.

Can I just say I really enjoy Johnny and Seth so much! Seth is such a good foil for him, I like how much they have in common and how much they can kinda learn from each other, and it's really REAL to me, how Johnny is super fucked up but as soon as he sees his friend behaving in a similarly fucked up way he's like HANG ON A DAMN MINUTE because ain't we all like that. And Seth does the same for Johnny!

I'm really glad Johnny has him for a friend! That was a totally delightful organic development and it was fun as heck. :)

Thirding that you are REALLY GOOD AT TORTURING YOUR BABIES.

Also, you're very good at capturing your characters' voices, at least going off the ones whose canons I'm actually familiar with. (So, like... everyone but Seth? SORRY SETH. I'VE ONLY SEEN LIKE FIVE EPS OF MISFITS.) And I admire the way you really delve into their heads.

Also, on the mod front, so much great design and html and stuff?? You help make everything look so neat and pretty and coordinated.

Oh man that's a big compliment for me actually, cause I always feel like I have real trouble capturing voices. (But then I've played with some people who were just PERFECT at mimicking a character's speech patterns and their idiosyncratisies, which has made me insecure in comparison I guess. But possible then also more determined to get it right? Idk.) And REALLY DELVING INTO THEIR HEADS IS FUN.

Also lol that's probably a good thing at this point, I feel like Seth has definitely changed a lot compared to how he was in canon. Probably helped by me watching just like all of Matthew McNulty filmography so they kinda merge together in a mishmash in my head. Particularly noticeable by how I have lotsa icons from like four other shows with him, because hey more expression variety.

And YAY, tho I actually kinda feel eh about the layout of the game at this point, I would love to revamp it and make it more fancy and clean? But I don't want to mess with people knowing how stuff works and how to find things, and it might just be me overthinking html/css design stuff. XD

I like how much thought you put into all of your characters. You do research, you dig into their personal histories, you extrapolate as much as you can to understand them as intensively as possible and it becomes so clear to me that you have a lot of love for the people you play which, yes, translates into torture because that is how it go for us creative types and hey you are also excellent at that! so it all works out!

Seth's relationship with Daniel versus his CR with Rush is such a dichotomous excellent thing and I love it a lot.

And yes me too, man, though I feel like that's largely down to you being able to play such different ppl? Cause they're SO different to play off, there's just so much variation to react to, and that's so much fun to explore, cause I rly love how just the same character becomes SO different depending on who they're interacting with. (This is probably why I'm better at playing just a few characters rather than a bajillion of them.)

And I'm super excited for Mako too I forgot to say that. (I have no fucking clue how Seth will relate to her.)

I'm typing this from a phone ugh but I want to second Jazzy even though she stole what I was gonna say, I love how thorough you are with your characters. I see all the tattoo art and horoscope stuff you post on tumblr about Seth. It just ahhh I can't see what I'm typing it adds another layer of realness that I appreciate. all of my icons are gone or I would pick a good one.

I have gone a little over the top with Seth, WHEN I LIKE PLAYING A CHARACTER I REALLY HARDCORE LIKE THEM. It's rly how I keep myself motivated and interested, I need to keep poking at them even when I don't have the energy to play them, so that I don't lose them.

I'M VERY GLAD IT'S APPRECIATED BY OTHERS THAN JUST MYSELF.

So on the topic of how deep you go into your characters, I should probably mention that you set my standard for how I write apps -- like a couple years ago I looked at the apps you were writing and decided I had to kick it up a notch. You always know your characters inside and out, and there are a couple characters (Lucy comes to mind) to whom I didn't pay a lot of attention in their canon but whom you really fleshed out in a way that made me care about them.

Also you make great icons and half my characters' accounts would be hideous if it weren't for you.

Hahaha. Like it's probably because I feel like I NEED TO do that, it's like writing meta, app-writing is how I examine the characters and make myself more secure in that I know who they are, and then I have a reference point to go back to if I feel unsure or too inconsistent. It's how I make myself feel like I can actually write them.

I realise not everyone works that way though, like for example figure out their characters by actually playing them, so I don't actually hold anyone else to the app-standard I hold myself to. (Unless I'm asked to beta, in which case I will pepper you with personality and motivation questions.)

AND WOO! I love making icons for people. (Considering you've got a lot of Tennantface so that was very enjoyable.)

It works for me, though, and I think adopting some of your approach has helped me with my own consistency (and like you said, feeling consistent).

We need to get Seth and Gabe together more because i really do love their dynamic together. It's a bit strange that they became friends but I really like that they did. And really everyone else that youve played is well thought-out and interesting to rp with.
