So I think all of us need a little self-esteem boost and motivation once in a while, and I've been wanting to do this for ages.


Step 1: Tag in with a list of you you play as. (And previous characters too if you want.)

Step 2: Also include one thing you like about yourself, because self-love is important and I greatly encourage it.

Step 3: Reply to other people with stuff you love about them.

This could be anything, personal or purely RP related. Maybe you really love how someone plays a character, or think they have great idea for plots, or had a really good time with a thread with them, or just think they're a really cool person. Say so!

I'm a coffeepot, I play Daniel and Rush and Tim and most recently Mako got inducted into this whole business and once upon a long time ago I played Illyria but that was kind of a failure so let's just ignore that

I'm also much too anxious to do/say much other than launch a generic 'i love you all' into the void because talking!!!! is hard!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay that's all

You are awesome, your tags and post ideas are ALWAYS new and different, and I've seen how hard you badger yourself into making them so. You WORK REALLY REALLY HARD to be good at this, and it has PAID OFF, and it looks fucking effortless, the speed at which you do it, the substantive nature of all your tags. You are also teaching me new (weird, mathy) words with every tag and I love that. You have been so supportive to me behind the scenes and are just generally such a good. I'm soooo glaaaad you joinnned and I got to meet you bawww ellis stop getting ur gross emotions all over the public thread

Ahem. Where do I even begin with Rush and Iman. They are my everything. The fact that people are so into my DUMB LAZILY-WORLDBUILT OC (I accidentally insulted myself on a compliment thread, ummmmmmmmm I mean she's pretty cool I guess) makes me so happy I could cry, and that she has made this profound relationship with your cranky beautiful hedgehog child makes me happier than just about anything.

You're great. Again, I'm sorry this was rough for you but I'm glad you did it, because you deserve all the recognition for how excellent you are.

oh hush Iman is excellent and the most fun and I appreciate the hell out of her. Remember in like our first thread with Daniel and Lucifer and Iman I was like THANK FUCK FOR IMAN SHE IS MY EVERYTHING and that is STILL SUPER TRUE so you hush she is wonderful!

oh man i did not even realise you picked up Mako, i am so out of the loop!

i love the diversity of tone and like.....outlook, emotionscape, something??? that you are able to bring, with your variety of characters and their variety of circumstances. i wonder how you avoid some kind of emotional whiplash from it, but you do it very well. it feels as complete as if you were entirely devoted to one character. that stands out to me.

You are just such an incredibly cool person and I am so glad you joined. And like, you're such a ridiculously supportive friend? Like just motivational and reassuring and always there for people, and it's really wonderful. And also hilarious and punny.

And I know you're insecure about your writing/characterisation, but like if I'd just seen your writing I'd never have believe it, cause you pull it off so hard. And I hugely envy your vocabulary. And also just the research and effort you put into the stuff, like all the confusing as fuck shit for Rush for example? It's impressive shit, and it shows you really care about making this stuff good and that is incredibly rewarding to play against. And just like... I've had so much fun threading with you?? Like it's just easy, there's always something to bounce off of, to the point where I don't even know where to take something because I have so many options, idek what I'm saying.

Like, I felt like I really really knew both Daniel and Rush before watching SG? And then watching it, it was just like it opened up the backstory and basically I 100% believed that the Daniel I was watching would eventually fall through the rift, cause the characterisation is so spot on. And it also makes me wish I was into Tim's type of canon so I could have the same experience with him, cause from what I've seen, he is perfect too.

And you just do not give yourself enough credit cause you are pretty amazing tbh.

Ollieeee you are a sweet delightful darling and I very much appreciate that you overcame your shyness to be a part of the SCIENCELINGS chat so I could meet you.

You have a really engaging and unique way with words, especially noticeably to me in Rush and that was largely what fascinated me about him enough to marathon SGU in a week. Your portrayal absolutely lives up to the comparison with canon and also offers us a better insight into his motivations than canon does and that is super enjoyable. (also I reeeeally enjoyed Illyria when you did play her, and having to concede that a character is just too alien/monstrous/unchangeable to keep in the game does in no way mean that what you did do with her was a failure <3)

bawwwww but thank u. Rush is a source of a lot of insecurity since I took a looooootta liberties with him based on how little we got in the show and sorta took him in my own direction whoops, but I'm glad you like him and the TARDIS's relationship with him warms my cold dead heart ;_;

Part of being good at this is knowing when it's time to move on from something that isn't working for you anymore, so I would definitely count Illyria as a success. I'm glad I had the chance to play Rashad against her, but I'm also glad you're focusing on the characters that are working for you right now because those choices are hard to make and it's too easy to get bogged down in going on playing something just out of inertia, believe me.

And I'm not the first to say it, but I agree with the others who have -- back when I just knew you from IC interactions it all looked effortless from the outside, and I still don't understand how your tags can be so fast and so substantial. There's so much inner process of the characters' minds revealed in your tags, and when I thread with you I'm always pushing myself to try to match your quality because you give me so much to work with.

Illyria and Rashad's interactions were a lot of fun! I really wish I could've found a way to make her work but ahhh well it was not meant to be. Besides, Rush and Rashad's nonsense is also super compelling and a lovely ongoing source of tension
