Since things have gone a bit quiet, this seems like a good time to regroup and talk about what our assorted characters have been up to, lately. Or what we'd like them to get up to. Or how cute our new chunkhead cat is.

Let's play catch-up and/or do some brainstorming! Come on down.

Greta has recently been disabused of the notion that she'll ever be going back home again, and is not happy about it. But she has a new feral child to distract her! What could go wrong? Lilly is so well-behaved.

Melanie has been playing big sister to the aforementioned feral child and teaching her the alphabet and how to people. Except for the part where Melanie doesn't actually know how to people all that well, herself. But by god, Lilly can probably write her name, and that's something.

Daine has pretty much recovered from any averse side effects of the ruction she caused back in September. Do you want a pet? She will hook you up with a pet. Check under your chairs, YOU ALL HAVE PETS.

Sunshine is still working it up at the bake shop, which is still a good place for rifties to hang during daylight hours, provided it isn't a Monday. Back in her universe, Sunday night movie nights were a thing. She might try to get this tradition going in Manhattan. Movie nights y/n??

Also, I have a new chunkhead cat. His name is Smash Lampjaw Roll Fizzlebeef Gristle McThornbody Bob Johnson Behemoth. He has one normal ear and one raggedy one, and twice a day I have to wrap him in a towel and force-feed him herpes medication. I love him.

Daniel has de-Ascended and is juuuuuust starting to get his memory faculties back. I haven't made any grand decisions as to how quick or slow this is gonna happen, but if anyone wants to do memory shenanigans we can probably pencil that in. Other than that, he's pretty much unoccupied.

Rush got a dog (temporarily, he says fiercely and frequently to anyone who will listen, which is no one) and partially fixed Iman's arm! In less pleasant news, he's also unwisely chosen to get on Lucifer's bad side because he's a subversive little shit. Will this result in further bad decisions on his part? Stay tuned. Last but not least, Rush is currently suffering from a minor case of stabbed-itis due to keeping Jay from being mauled by some kind of Rift monster. Good job, Rush.

Tim has been the busiest of my bees, though mostly where Jay's involved. Jay died, Tim got him back, Tim got coma'd, Tim woke up, and now he and Jay are finally enjoying some much-deserved rest before more shit hits the fan. Jay got him a ukulele, and they've made a habit of scoping out bad movies to laugh at. Good times, good times.

Mako has been busy wrestling with her inner Raleigh. Last time she went out it didn't go so great so she's been staying in mostly. Most recently she was eternally patient with a sickly Gabriel and was best pals with Johnny. I've got some vague ideas for a long-running plot for her, most of which involve her discovering her power to drift. Anyone wanna bump brains with this cutie? Let me know.

Wheatley has just arrived and is still getting settled. He has no idea his old tyrant boss is here in the form of an extremely judge-y not-human, and he's still adapting to human life - probably badly. His flailing indignation is mostly for comedic purposes. Plot-wise, he's wide, wide open.

So drifting with gabe is unlikely and also probably literally mind-blowing so idk about that but have you considered: spike. he does need a sparring partner. a couple centuries worth of backlog there. but also lol what if personality transfer? thatd be hilarious both ways.

also i think more stuff with spike and daniel could be fun? tho idk precisely what. Maybe they could accidentally magic something?

Also doggie playdates for rush and gabe? that should happen. gabe could make that happen while Rush is confused and grumpy about it.

Johnny is still protecting Tim's alter ego secret to the detriment of his relationships with both Gabe and Eliot, but he and Gabe are at least working things out for the most part. Lately he's been acting a little scary in his dreams. Sometimes he doesn't even remember. This is gonna come to a head soon enough when he has his big scary nightmare.

Iman is very happy to have two workable arms again even if she's still not thoroughly convinced she and Rush can get it like it used to be. Life has been very stressful. Lucifer knows about Rush and Rush keeps pissing powerful entities off and getting stabbed. She's getting closer and closer to Greta but now Greta has adopted a ding dang child. Why this.

Jay is working on not dying which continues to be hard for him. His friendship with Tim is finally stable. I'll be finding new ways to mess him up soon.

GLaDOS is still technically in the moving-in process. She has plans that are gonna need community attention. She has a good peon in Rashad and another peon whose presence is not yet known to her. Oh boy oh boy.

Aziraphale and Bee are still kickin around being nice and retired. Aziraphale has recently seen to the transferral of Lilly to Greta's care.

The Balladeer is still hanging around and busking. As it gets colder, he's going to take up giving music lessons as well, just for an extra source of income that doesn't involve freezing his fingers off. I'm not sure he totally knows how to handle money and he's probably just got any extra cash he has stuffed in a drawer somewhere so you know best he has some kind of steady gig

Sooner or later someone should show him what YouTube is so he can post dorky acoustic covers of shit there. That'd be adorable. Except he'd also probably post videos about how to play things even though YOU SHOULD BE CHARGING FOR THAT

Everything is okay with him and obviously it will stay that way. Because nothing bad is going to happen. Yep!

So Gabe probably knows how to play a BUNCH of instruments. Including a out of date ones. Lute? Hurdy Gurdy? He's got that. But also like guitar or whatever. 12th century lute music on an electric guitar would be interesting I'm sure. They should have a jam session. Yknow, if Gabe's past doesn't like. Break the Balladeer when they actually meet.

Ok well the TARDIS's life has been same old, same old. She suffered the horrible illness and has been having pleasant (and unpleasant) conversations in the most recent dream party. At the moment I'm just interested in her meeting new people (certainly GLaDOS and Wheatley) and seeing what happens, as well as catching up with older threads. If there's a thread I've dropped that you're still into doing, please let me know!

Calliope has most recently had the hilarious misfortune of dealing with a sick Doctor. In general I'm gonna assume there's been a lot of learning about humans, reading books in the library and watching cartoons with her two gay dads. She needs more friends! Which will happen as soon as I get her voice back. >.>

Also the new season of Doctor Who just started, so hopefully Jazzy and I are gonna be super fired up and energized by it and get back into doing things. For now the Doctor and the TARDIS are over at dear_player nagging each other like the grumpy old married couple they are. If you think "hey, here's something one of Laura's characters might be suited for", please don't think I'm too busy/overwhelmed and just ask! I'll be slow but I still wanna doooo stuffff. :<<

Hello yes I have done nothing and am going nowhere


Asmodia is still kind of settling in, though she's had enough time to figure out how to money and how to more or less human in this world. She sort of helped Jay and Tim...sort of...and that got her confidence up a bit, but she's mostly just been drifting without a lot to do beyond acclimating. She knows she's not strong enough to poke the Rift, but she's got some important stuff to go home to and is on the lookout for indications that someone else might be gearing up to poke it, and/or for opportunities to learn more about how it works.

Peter moved to the penthouse in Gabe's radpad, and presumably that whole stage show thing that's been on the backburner for months is happening?

Rashad has finally found what he wanted: someone to tell him what to do. He's not 100% confident about GLaDOS's leadership yet, but she definitely has the right idea about putting this city in order. So authoritative, too. It's so nice to not have to make his own decisions right now.

Yuri has been on hold since the factions fell and I need to do something about that.

As far as Rift-poking goes, Rush has a sustained interest in thaaaaat but I also know the last time he and Asmodia met THEY DIDN'T GET ALONG SO WELL and also Rush has been stabbed. Granted neither thing will really be much of an obstacle in terms of sciencing since Rush doesn't even care.

We could sort out WTF Yuri is doing with his bear self. XD I'm sure any conversations he and Daine had about that wouldn't be awkward at all.

Also Greta still needs to meet everyone but Rashad, but she's gonna be kinda housebound for a bit. Maybe she can take Lilly to the park to blow off some steam and run into people.

Peeta isn't doing anything. As per usual. Maybe one of these days he'll discover his rift power. Maybe because the rift gets peeved that he hasn't done so yet. Maybe he gets a job, now that the base - and its kitchen - is gone. Though being underage might make that a bit difficult.

Lilly has recently been relocated, this time from Aziraphale and Melanie's care, to Greta's. Because this couldn't possibly end terribly. Not at all.

Gabe has recovered from being sick and has sent out a message to everybody in his building. maybe there will be movie nights! or something. tere are many threads in progress with gabe from way back so uh...lemme know if you want me to pick up an old thing/figure out what happened and go on from there

spike is settled into his new life and is still working at Aziraphale's bookshop next to the bakery. He needs some more friends! Jay will probably get there once they get used to eachother, but i totally welcome everyone to come and bug spike/meet him someplace

We should get Gabe and Peter together again...and I should figure out what's even happening with Peter. At this point there probably ought to be some handwaving about what they've done re: magic show to just move that along.

And maybe Asmodia can discover the bookshop! She loves books. She also has a chaos demon's natural hatred for neat and tidy shit, so it's really going to be her kind of bookshop.
